There are 2 ways to reach Andaman; by Air and water –

  • By Air – Flight is the easiest and fastest way to reach the Andaman Islands. The capital city of Port Blair has an airport that is well-connected to major cities in India like Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, and Bangalore. Some airlines that operate flights to Port Blair include Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet, Vistara, and GoAir.

Day 1 In Andaman

Once the administrative headquarters of the Britishers in Andaman now this place is completely abandoned and you can see the remains & ruins of the colonial era including powerhouses, caves, printing houses, churches, and even a small cemetery. The tickets for private ferries are easily available and can be booked on the day of traveling while the tickets for government ferries need some effort. Also, the timings are not fixed so you need to book well in advance.

Note: Take the early morning ferry or the first ferry in the morning so you can reach Havelock around 10 AM and have enough time for other activities.

Trek To Elephant Beach

After having breakfast it’s time to visit one of the most celebrated beaches in Havelock, Elephant Beach. There are 2 ways to reach Elephant beach one is via boat and another is via trekking. So, we’re going to take the trek to reach the beach.

Traversing through the dense jungle of mangroves the trail is very exciting. It can be done with or without guide. The trek is very simple and can be done by beginners as well.

This 2 KM trek starts near the Radhanagar beach. If you’re not comfortable doing it alone then you can hire guides who charge around 200 INR and can be found near the starting point. After reaching the beach you can relax in the cafe, have some refreshments and enjoy the water activities.

Elephant Beach is best known for its water activities like snorkeling, speed boating, banana boat ride, sea walking, parasailing, kite surfing, glass bottom boat ride, jet skiing and many more.

After enjoying the water activities now it’s time to leave for Neil Island.

Day 4 In Andaman

Visit Sitapur Beach For Amazing Sunrise

Wake up early in the morning and catch the most beautiful sunrise of your life at Sitapur Beach which is also known as sunrise beach. This beach witness sunrise early than rest of the India so make sure you leave bed very early in the morning or check the sunrise timings. The beach is surrounded by all 3 sides by the lush green forest and exposed straight to the open sea which makes it perfect to watch the sunrise. After reaching Port Blair it’s time to visit the most famous and historic attraction of Andaman, the Cellular Jail. Also known as Kala Pani, Cellular Jail is a historic prison built by the British colonial government in the late 19th century. It was used to imprison political prisoners and freedom fighters during India’s struggle for independence.

  • Explore the Museum – Cellular Jail has a museum that displays the artifacts, photographs, and documents related to India’s freedom struggle and the prisoners who were kept in jail. The museum also has a replica of the jail, which provides a glimpse of prison life during the British era.
